Experience unprecedented battery life with solar charging. The Instinct's Solar powered battery creates a device thats built to endure. Variable based on sun-exposure, the Instinct can provide unmatched battery life to those that explore under the sun, providing up to 54 days worth of charge whilst in smartwatch mode. Helping you to save power, the Instinct allows you to view how various settings and sensors are impacting your watch's battery life, so you can make battery-extending changes on the fly should you need to. In Smartwatch Mode, the Instinct can last up to 24 days or 54 days with solar (assuming all-day wear with 3 hours per day outside in 50,000 lux conditions), in Battery Saver Watch Mode up to 56 days or unlimited with solar, in GPS Mode up to 30 hours or 38 hours with solar (assuming use in 50,000 lux conditions), in Max Battery GPS Mode up to 70 hours or 145 days with solar, and in Expedition GPS Activity Mode up to 28 days or 68 days with solar.

Military standard toughness lets you play rough without worry. Constructed from a fibre-reinforced polymer case, chemically strengthened, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass and a battery powered by the sun, Garmin have created a device that's built to endure. The Instinct is built to the U.S. military standard 810 for thermal, shock and water resistance (rated to 100 metres), so is the perfect watch for all sports. The Instinct lets you change things up with ease thanks to preloaded activity profiles for surfing, swimming, running, biking, hiking, rowing, strength and more. With Instinct, you're free to go wherever your activities take you - thanks to GPS, GLONASS and Galileo coverage, which can track better in more challenging environments than GPS alone. Whether you're on or off road, the network capabilities help you track how far, fast and hard you've run. Safety and tracking features also make it exceptionally easy to share your location with your chosen contact should you get into any difficulty. The Instinct will send your real-time location to emergency contacts so you can be found easily should an emergency arise. Easily navigate your next trail with ABC sensors, including an altimeter for elevation data, barometer to monitor weather and three-axis electronic compass, you will be well prepared for whatever is ahead. The Instinct allows you to take the guesswork out of your return journey by using Tracback Routing, a feature to navigate the same route back to your starting point, so you can run in confidence knowing you'll always be led back home.

Garmin are making it easier to get the data you need. Get heart rate data along with alerts if your heart rate stays too high or too low while you're at rest. You can gauge how hard your heart is working during activities, even underwater. For altitude acclimation or sleep monitoring, a Pulse Ox2 sensor uses light beams at your wrist to gauge how well your body is absorbing oxygen. Heart rate variability is used to calculate your stress level score, so you can see if you're having a calm, balanced or stressful day. The Instinct allows you to optimise your body's energy reserves, using heart rate variability, stress, sleep and other data to gauge when you're ready to be active or when you may need to rest.

When paired with a compatible device, the Instinct will allow you to receive emails, texts, alerts and notifications straight to your wrist, easily see your plans for the day with a dedicated calendar screen, or train smarter with built in sports apps. Pair Instinct with an inReach device (sold separately) to view and send messages, get weather alerts on your wrist and trigger an SOS to the GEOS 24/7 emergency response team should you need to.
