Three Rock - Fairy Castle Loop - Night Hike

Get ready for an unforgettable evening with the 53 Degrees North Adventure Club as we hike beneath the stars through the Dublin Mountains, up to the legendary Fairy Castle.

Meeting Point:
We’ll gather at 6.30pm at the Blue Light car park, where our experienced guides will run through a quick orientation and safety briefing before we set off.

What to Bring:
Bring a headlamp, your sense of adventure, and make sure to wear sturdy hiking boots or trail shoes with good grip (waterproof recommended). Dress for the weather and pack a small backpack with a spare fleece and hat. We’ll have a few spare headlamps if needed.

On the Trail:
The hike begins with a steady climb through peaceful forest trails and open mountain paths. The glow of your headlamp will guide the way as the city lights fade behind you. Listen to the sounds of the night, feel the cool mountain air, and let the atmosphere of the Dublin Mountains draw you in.

At Fairy Castle:
Our route leads to the summit at Fairy Castle, an ancient cairn wrapped in mystery and local folklore. From here, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of Dublin’s twinkling skyline – a truly magical sight on a clear night.

The Experience:
Along the way, you’ll meet other outdoor enthusiasts, share stories, and enjoy a relaxed, friendly pace. Our guides will share fascinating insights about the area, making this hike as much about connection as it is about adventure.

The Return:
We’ll descend back to the Blue Light car park together, guided safely by our team. Expect the full experience to take around 2½ hours, depending on the group’s pace.
