That's why we offer a straightforward and flexible returns and exchanges process. Whether you purchased in-store or online, our goal is to make returning or exchanging products as convenient as possible. Below, you'll find all the details you need to return or exchange items, including how to handle faulty products and important information on wear and tear. We're here to help every step of the way.
In-Store Purchases
Can I return or exchange an item I bought in-store? 🧾
Yes, if you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days from the purchase date to any 53 Degrees North store. We will refund the amount using the original payment method if possible, or you can exchange the item for another size or a different product. This policy includes sale items.
Any items bought in Arnotts in the 53 Degrees North area can only be returned there. In addition, we cannot accept returns of items from our 53 Degrees North stores in Blanchardstown, Carrickmines and Cork City Center in Arnotts.
Please Note: A valid proof of purchase is required for all returns and exchanges. Please keep your receipt safe. The item needs to be unused and in original packaging.
Online Purchases
Can I return or exchange an item I bought online?
Yes, items bought online can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of the delivery date at our 53 Degrees North stores in Dublin Carrickmines, Dublin Blanchardstown and Cork City Centre. They cannot be returned to our Arnotts store. We will refund the amount using the original payment method if possible, or you can exchange the item for another size or a different product. This policy includes sale items.

Important: The cost of returning goods must be covered by the customer. We recommend using a trusted carrier and keeping proof of postage, as we are not liable for items that go missing in transit.
How to Return Items
While deciding whether to keep your purchase, you have a statutory duty to take reasonable care of the goods. This means you should not damage the goods or their packaging while inspecting them.
Important Points:
- Return items with the original, undamaged packaging.
- For health and safety reasons, footwear must be returned in a clean and dry condition. We will not accept footwear in any other condition.
- Climbing equipment and underwear cannot be returned unless they are faulty.
Packing Your Return 📦
If returning a web order by post, please pack your item carefully. Many customers reuse the original packing it was sent in. Include your returns form with the package and send it to:

Incorrect Items
What if I received the wrong item in my order?
We strive to ensure orders are correct, but mistakes can happen. If you receive an incorrect item, please contact us via email at webstore@53degreesnorth.ie as soon as possible.
You can return the incorrect item to one of our stores for a return or exchange, or you can post it back to us. We will reimburse you for any postage costs incurred. Please include a copy of the receipt. 🏷️
Faulty Returns
How to Return a Faulty Item
In-Store Purchases
If you bought a faulty item in-store, return it to the same store along with proof of purchase. Items should be clean and dry, free from mud and dirt. Our team will assist you with a return form and conduct an assessment. Please note, goods thought to be faulty may be returned to our suppliers, which can take up to 6 weeks for a refund, repair, or exchange.
Online Purchases
If you bought a faulty item online, you can return it to the nearest store (Dublin Carrickmines, Dublin Blanchardstown & Cork City Centre) with proof of purchase, or you can post it back to us. Include your returns form and proof of purchase, or a note with your order number, name, contact details, and the nature of the fault.
Please be aware we cannot accept online returns to our store in Arnotts.
Please contact us before you return a faulty item and our team will issue a return label to you. If you return faulty items without contacting us first to receive a return label, you may lose out on compensation for the return costs.

Outcome of Faulty Return Assessment
Once we confirm the fault, we will exchange the item, provide store credit, or refund the full cost, including any delivery charges where appropriate. If the item is found to be without fault, we will contact you and return the item.
Wear & Tear
DWR (Durable Water Repellence) Coating
Please note that no DWR finish is permanent. To maintain performance, regularly clean your garment or footwear and occasionally reproof it. We recommend using Nikwax products.
Footwear Wear and Tear
