Description

Cold, windy days call for insulation that retains warmth without turning every walk into a bulky layering exercise. The North Face Men's Aconcagua Jacket combines targeted recycled synthetic insulation with a wind-resistant WindWall™ outer for hiking, travel and regular cold-weather wear.

The main body uses 200 g recycled polyester sheet insulation, with 180 g insulation through the sides and underarms to balance warmth with movement. A lighter insulated draft flap sits behind the front zip, helping reduce heat loss through the closure without adding unnecessary bulk.

WindWall™ recycled polyester reduces the chilling effect of moving air, while a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish helps light moisture bead away. The jacket is water resistant rather than fully waterproof, making a shell necessary in sustained rain.

Zipped hand pockets secure essentials, an internal two-point hem drawcord reduces draughts and the high-low hem adds coverage at the back. Triclimate™ attachment loops also allow compatibility with selected The North Face shells, extending the jacket into a more adaptable cold-weather system.

About the brand

The North Face

The North Face began in 1966 as a small climbing and camping shop in San Francisco, started by two outdoor enthusiasts who wanted to supply serious adventurers with gear they could trust. It took its name from the coldest, most demanding face of a mountain, and that spirit of pushing boundaries has shaped the brand ever since.

Today The North Face is known worldwide for jackets, footwear and packs built to perform in rain, wind and snow. From forest walks to summit scrambles, its gear is made to protect you through changeable conditions and long days outdoors, whatever Ireland's skies decide to do.

That reliability comes from proven materials and technologies, including GORE-TEX for waterproof, breathable protection and ThermoBall insulation for packable warmth. It is gear designed to keep up, on the trail and off it.
