Description

The MSR Trail Lite 1.3 L Pot is a lightweight hard-anodised aluminium cooking pot sized for solo trips and compact backcountry cook kits.

Its 1.3 litre capacity suits water boiling and simple one-pot meals, while the folding locking handle keeps the pot compact in a pack. The pot weighs approximately 200 g and measures about 14.5 cm in diameter by 10.2 cm high.

Safety notice: Cascade Designs included this exact Trail Lite model in a product recall because the detachable handle may loosen or detach during use, creating a burn or scald risk. Do not use this pot unless the affected handle has been replaced with the manufacturer-provided replacement handle.

About the brand

MSR

MSR, short for Mountain Safety Research, is an American brand founded in 1969 in Seattle by engineer and lifelong mountaineer Larry Penberthy. It began not as a product but as a crusade: Penberthy started testing climbing equipment and publishing a safety newsletter after finding that gear was often failing when it mattered most.

That obsession with reliability became a company known for hard-wearing, technical kit. MSR built its name on backcountry stoves, starting with the Model 9 in 1973 and later the WhisperLite, and went on to make water filters, snowshoes and tents trusted on expeditions worldwide. Now part of Cascade Designs and still based in Seattle, MSR makes lightweight, engineering-led gear for everyone from weekend campers to serious mountaineers.
