Salomon. Tomorrow is yours.

Salomon has been a mountain sports company since 1947, and everything it builds is made to get you there, whatever the ground. That starts underfoot. Salomon footwear combines aggressive grip, a secure foot hugging fit and waterproof protection for changing conditions, from trail running shoes and cushioned road runners to GORE-TEX walking shoes and hiking boots, made for soft trails, road miles, hill days and everyday outdoor use.

For soft and muddy trails, the Speedcross 6 gives you deep, dependable grip, with a GORE-TEX option for the wettest days. The Ultra Glide brings a softer, cushioned ride for longer runs, while the X Ultra 5 is the all round hiking shoe and the Quest 5 steps up to a supportive boot for multi day routes.

That same mountain engineering carries onto the snow. Salomon ski helmets and goggles bring low profile protection and clear, wide vision to the slopes, with the fullest range arriving for the autumn and winter season.

Choose from Salomon trail runners, road runners, walking shoes, hiking boots, ski helmets and goggles at 53 Degrees North, with free Click & Collect available from selected stores in Ireland.

04 The story

BORN IN THE ALPS. BUILT FOR REAL GROUND.

Salomon started in 1947 in Annecy, in the French Alps, as a small family workshop making ski edges. Within a few decades it had grown into one of the biggest names in skiing, built on a reputation for clever engineering and real mountain know-how.

That same thinking moved onto the trail. Salomon brought its grip, protection and lightweight build to footwear, expanding into trail running, hiking and walking shoes alongside its snow heritage. The approach stayed the same: design for the ground underfoot, then prove it in the mountains.

The result is footwear and gear made to perform when conditions turn. Whether it is a wet trail run in the Wicklow hills, a long day on the Kerry Way or a winter week on the slopes, Salomon is built to grip, protect and keep you moving.

07 Salomon Ski Technology

Three pieces of ski tech to know.

01

Protection

MIPS

A low-friction layer inside the helmet that lets it move slightly on impact, designed to reduce the rotational forces that reach the head in an angled fall. Built into the Brigade.

02

Build

In-mould shell

A light, low-profile construction that fuses the outer shell to the liner, with adjustable venting to manage heat and keep goggles clear. Seen on the Husk.

03

Vision

Multi-layer goggle lens

A wide lens that opens up your field of view and holds contrast as the light changes, with full UV protection on the S/View.

08 The Speedcross line

The trail shoe that needs no introduction.

Speedcross has been Salomon's grip benchmark for years. Deep chevron lugs that bite into soft ground, a foot-hugging fit that holds at speed, and a GORE-TEX version for the wettest Irish days. It's the shoe we point most trail runners to first.

09 Under the hood

Three pieces of tech worth understanding.

01

Grip

Contagrip outsole

Salomon's own outsole compounds and lug patterns, tuned per shoe for the surface it's built for, from soft mud to wet rock and hard-packed trail.

02

Waterproofing

GORE-TEX membrane

A waterproof, breathable membrane that keeps bog and rain out while letting heat escape, the default choice for most of the Irish year.

03

Fit

SensiFit & Quicklace

A lacing cradle that wraps the midfoot so the shoe moves with you, with a one-pull lace that locks in and tucks away.

10 Why we stock Salomon

SALOMON ACROSS OUR IRISH STORES.

Selected Salomon footwear and ski gear is available to try on in our 53 Degrees North stores.

The fit is the place to start. Salomon footwear holds the foot with a snug, secure midfoot and a precise lace, so the shoe moves with you on uneven ground, and trying a pair on is the easiest way to find the size and feel that suits you. The same goes for a helmet, where a proper in-store fit check makes sure it sits level and secure before you get on the mountain.

From there it comes down to what you are doing. The Speedcross and trail line bite into soft, muddy ground, the cushioned road shoes roll out the everyday miles, and the X Ultra and Quest bring waterproof grip and support for hill days and longer hikes. On the snow side, our teams can size up ski helmets and goggles together, so the goggle sits flush to the helmet with no gap across the brow.

Our store teams fit Salomon regularly, across both footwear and ski. If you are not sure which model suits what you are doing, call into your nearest store and they will work through it with you.
