Description

The Mantis 400 is our latest innovation in lightweight sleeping bags, featuring our unique ThermX design. ThermX combines a propriety construction and insulation technology to focus warmth where you need it and increase the warmth-to-weight ratio. This means a smaller, more compressible pack size without compromising on performance when you need it. Durable Polair Eco ripstop fabric reduces weight whilst remaining breathable and water resistant. Thermal Reverb and Thermal Embrace keep warmth in whilst an updated Arrow Foot 2.0 design increases comfort and flexibility at your feet.

Highlights

  • Recycled 40 Denier Ripstop Nylon Shell Fabric: Durable, water-resistant, lightweight, and highly breathable.
  • Recycled 40 Denier Ripstop Nylon Lining Fabric: Soft-touch, tear-resistant, and highly compressible to reduce pack size.
  • ThermX Design: Combines a unique proprietary construction and insulation technology targeting heat where you need it most for increased warmth-to-weight ratio.
  • Thermal Reverb: Non-woven aluminised fabric layers are strategically placed to reflect heat back to the user, increasing warmth and heat retention.
  • Thermal Embrace: Elasticated threads in the lining gently cinch the sleeping bag closer to your body, reducing cold spots without restricting movement.
  • Insulated Adjustable Shoulder Baffle: Retains heat within the sleeping bag.
  • 2 Panel 3D Hood: Shaped to prevent heat loss from the head for maximum warmth and comfort.
  • Full Length Two-Way Auto-Lock Zip with Zip Guard: Used to seal in warmth or provide ventilation, and can be used from inside the bag. Anti-catch piping helps to prevent the zip from snagging on the lining.
  • Omega Shaping: Engineered for warmth, ergonomically tailored around the head and shoulders. Zips and seams are placed in the lower section of the bag to retain warmth more effectively.
  • Insulated Zip Baffle: Retains heat within the sleeping bag and reduces cold spots.
  • Internal Pocket: Provides convenient storage for small items.
  • Ergonomic Footbox: Redesigned for increased comfort whilst minimizing heat loss.
  • 3-Strap Compression Stuffsack: Reduces overall pack weight without compromising on compressibility.
  • Temperature Ratings Independently Measured: In accordance with EN 23537-1:2022. Extensively tested to meet accurate temperature rating standards for peace of mind.

About the brand

Vango

Vango is a Scottish outdoor brand, founded in 1966 in the west of Scotland by Alistair Moodie, its name an anagram of Govan, where it began. Still based near Glasgow at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, it has spent decades designing tents and equipment tested against real Scottish weather.

Vango is best known for pioneering AirBeam inflatable tent technology, which replaces traditional poles with air beams so large family tents can be pitched in minutes, now used across its tents and drive away awnings too. The range covers everything from family and technical trekking tents to sleeping bags, rucksacks, mats and camping furniture, including kit recommended by the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Reliability, innovation and usability run through it all.
