Description

High-output hiking calls for protection at the front and breathability where heat builds fastest. The North Face Men's Tek Approach Futurefleece Hooded Jacket combines stretch WindWall™ fabric with lightweight FUTUREFLEECE™ panels for fast movement in cool, exposed conditions.

The wind-resistant body reduces chilling airflow and uses a non-PFC water-repellent finish to shed brief moisture. FUTUREFLEECE™ across the back panel and hood provides low-weight warmth with greater breathability through high-perspiration zones.

A two-way front zip allows ventilation and easier access around a harness or backpack hip belt. Stretch binding holds the hood and cuffs neatly in place, while an internal hem adjuster closes the lower edge against exposed weather.

Secure zipped hand pockets and a bonded sleeve pocket organise small essentials. The chin guard improves comfort when fully closed, creating a versatile hybrid layer for active hiking rather than a fully waterproof outer shell.

A clever hybrid: the front is wind-resistant WindWall to cut the chill, while the back and hood are breathable fleece so you don't overheat climbing. Layer it under a shell if the rain comes in.

About the brand

The North Face

The North Face began in 1966 as a small climbing and camping shop in San Francisco, started by two outdoor enthusiasts who wanted to supply serious adventurers with gear they could trust. It took its name from the coldest, most demanding face of a mountain, and that spirit of pushing boundaries has shaped the brand ever since.

Today The North Face is known worldwide for jackets, footwear and packs built to perform in rain, wind and snow. From forest walks to summit scrambles, its gear is made to protect you through changeable conditions and long days outdoors, whatever Ireland's skies decide to do.

That reliability comes from proven materials and technologies, including GORE-TEX for waterproof, breathable protection and ThermoBall insulation for packable warmth. It is gear designed to keep up, on the trail and off it.
