Description

Cold, dry hikes call for an insulated jacket that provides immediate warmth without becoming excessively heavy or restrictive. The North Face Women's Diablo Down 2.0 Jacket combines 700-fill recycled down with wind-resistant WindWall™ fabric for trail pauses, travel and winter layering.

The lofty recycled-down insulation traps heat efficiently, while the woven polyester outer reduces wind chill and has a non-PFC durable water-repellent finish that helps light moisture bead away. The jacket is wind resistant and water repellent rather than fully waterproof.

Elastic inside the cuffs helps retain warmth around the wrists, and an internal drawcord adjusts the lower hem from inside the hand pockets. Zipped hand pockets secure trail essentials, while an internal chest pocket protects a phone or card.

The standard fit is officially described as true to size and leaves practical room for a midlayer. The jacket works alone in cold, dry weather or beneath a roomier waterproof shell when conditions turn wet.

Highlights

  • 700-fill down
  • Cuffs with inner elastic tape
  • Zipped hand pockets
  • Inner zipped chest pocket
  • Inner drawcord at the waist hem with adjuster inside the hand pockets

Warm and light, but it's a wind-and-water-resistant down jacket rather than a waterproof one, so throw a shell over it if the rain sets in. Perfect on its own for cold, dry days.

About the brand

The North Face

The North Face began in 1966 as a small climbing and camping shop in San Francisco, started by two outdoor enthusiasts who wanted to supply serious adventurers with gear they could trust. It took its name from the coldest, most demanding face of a mountain, and that spirit of pushing boundaries has shaped the brand ever since.

Today The North Face is known worldwide for jackets, footwear and packs built to perform in rain, wind and snow. From forest walks to summit scrambles, its gear is made to protect you through changeable conditions and long days outdoors, whatever Ireland's skies decide to do.

That reliability comes from proven materials and technologies, including GORE-TEX for waterproof, breathable protection and ThermoBall insulation for packable warmth. It is gear designed to keep up, on the trail and off it.
