Description

College, commuting and everyday travel become much easier when a backpack separates technology, larger gear and small essentials instead of asking one compartment to handle everything. The North Face Borealis Backpack provides that organisation in a supportive 28-litre design built for full days away from home.

A protected laptop compartment keeps a computer separate from books, clothing and the rest of the main load. The front compartment adds secure zipped pockets and a padded tablet sleeve, while an external fleece-lined pocket gives sunglasses, a phone or keys a softer place that remains quick to reach.

Comfort comes from the FlexVent™ suspension system, certified by the American Chiropractic Association. Articulated shoulder straps, a rounded padded back panel and soft-touch fabric spread the load, while the sternum strap and removable waist belt add stability when the bag is full. The self-standing design also makes loading and working from the backpack more straightforward.

Two external bottle pockets can double as quick-access storage, and the front bungee, side cords and bottom compression help secure or reduce the load. Reflective details provide visibility around the entire bag, while recycled nylon or polyester fabric with a non-PFC water-repellent finish resists light moisture. The Borealis is water resistant rather than waterproof.

The carry system is actually chiropractor-certified, which you rarely see on an everyday daypack. Worth it if you're carrying a laptop around all day.

About the brand

The North Face

The North Face began in 1966 as a small climbing and camping shop in San Francisco, started by two outdoor enthusiasts who wanted to supply serious adventurers with gear they could trust. It took its name from the coldest, most demanding face of a mountain, and that spirit of pushing boundaries has shaped the brand ever since.

Today The North Face is known worldwide for jackets, footwear and packs built to perform in rain, wind and snow. From forest walks to summit scrambles, its gear is made to protect you through changeable conditions and long days outdoors, whatever Ireland's skies decide to do.

That reliability comes from proven materials and technologies, including GORE-TEX for waterproof, breathable protection and ThermoBall insulation for packable warmth. It is gear designed to keep up, on the trail and off it.
