Meindl's footbed, a foam and fleece insole that cushions evenly along the whole length of the foot and adapts to its shape. Meindl's hiking outsole, made for them by Vibram and proven over decades. Its deep, self-cleaning tread and grippy edges hold well on muddy, rocky and uneven ground while shedding debris, and the sole is built to absorb shock, so it suits everything from trail walking to off-path exploring.

Vibram is the Italian company behind many of the grippy rubber soles on quality outdoor footwear, marked by its yellow octagon. It designs outsole rubber compounds and lug patterns tuned to the job, from wet rock and mud to everyday trails, for grip and long-lasting durability. Vibram soles are also often resoleable, which can extend the life of a good pair of boots.

Meindl's Memory Foam System, a memory-foam lining moulded into the boot around the ankle and heel. Warmed by your foot, it gradually shapes itself to you, easing pressure points and holding the foot snugly so it moves less inside the boot. The fit becomes more personal the more the boots are worn.
