Assistant Retail Manager Position - Carrickmines

53 Degrees North have an opportunity for an Assistant Store Manager to join the team based in Carrickmines, Dublin 18.

53 Degrees North has three stores in the ROI. Our retailing concept is simple: offering Ireland’s largest range of outdoor sports brands.

The Role

    This role will report to the General Manager and will hold full responsibility for all aspects of 53 Degrees North’s retail offering. The Assistant Store Manager will lead their teams in all aspects of sales growth, margin attainment, income protection, stock control, cost control, customer service, training and health and safety. The Assistant Store Manager will ensure 53DN continues to lead the market in quality, choice and variety of outdoor sports offering.


    • Drive sales and profit conversion delivering on a P&L bottom line
    • Ensure customer service and standards are best in class
    • Ensure the front line and all members of your team are fully trained, motivated and efficient in their duties
    • Full responsibility for stock control including replenishment, storage and seasonality changes
    • Act as a brand guardian to ensure consistency across the breadth of our offering
    • Drive innovation, embrace change and support the team in the delivery of any new concepts or brands
    • Ensure visual merchandising and displays are in keeping with 53 Degrees North brand guidelines
    • Work with the buying team to support the development of category growth plans
    • Work with the General Manager to optimise stock, labour, margin control, sales innovation and cost management
    • Full compliance with health and safety throughout our operations
    • Ensure accurate and timely employee records are inputted on our TMS
    • Provide cover for the General Manager when required
    • Ad hoc duties as per business requirement Requirements
    • 3+ years’ experience in a sport, outdoor sports, textiles or footwear customer facing retail business
    • Highly organised with an ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
    • Must be strategic, commercial minded and KPI driven with a clear vision and a passion for retail
    • Proven track record of seeking responsibility
    • Excellent people management
    • Be a creative and innovative thinker
    • Attention to detail
    • Great problem-solving skills
    • Interest in outdoor sports or general sports would be of benefit
