Description

Lowering a canister stove closer to the ground can make a noticeable difference when you are cooking with larger pots or setting up on uneven terrain. The MSR LowDown Remote Stove Adapter creates a wide, low-profile base beneath a compatible MSR canister-fuel stove or stove system, improving stability while moving the fuel canister and flame control away from the burner.

The remote valve lets you adjust the flame without reaching beneath hot cookware, while the flexible fuel line gives you more freedom in how the stove and canister are positioned. The broader stance also makes compact stoves more practical with larger cookware for group meals at camp.

Folding legs keep the adapter compact when packed, and its stainless-steel-led construction is designed for repeated outdoor use. At approximately 180 g and 13 cm long, it remains light enough to add to backpacking or family-camping cook kits when extra stability is worth carrying.

The LowDown is compatible with MSR canister-fuel stoves and stove systems except the SuperFly™ stove. Always follow the stove and fuel-canister manufacturer's operating and safety instructions.

About the brand

MSR

MSR, short for Mountain Safety Research, is an American brand founded in 1969 in Seattle by engineer and lifelong mountaineer Larry Penberthy. It began not as a product but as a crusade: Penberthy started testing climbing equipment and publishing a safety newsletter after finding that gear was often failing when it mattered most.

That obsession with reliability became a company known for hard-wearing, technical kit. MSR built its name on backcountry stoves, starting with the Model 9 in 1973 and later the WhisperLite, and went on to make water filters, snowshoes and tents trusted on expeditions worldwide. Now part of Cascade Designs and still based in Seattle, MSR makes lightweight, engineering-led gear for everyone from weekend campers to serious mountaineers.
