Description

The stove for everyone, the Switch system is an all-in-one, versatile choice that makes boiling water and cooking easy. It’s ready to go out of the box with a unique and efficient patent-pending 1.0L pot, but also lets you bring your cookware of choice.

The versatility of the Switch stove comes from the unique integrated pot and the multi-functional pot supports. In ‘system mode’, a ring stand supports the integrated Switch pot. Its patent-pending hemispherical bottom is engulfed evenly by the flame, heating quickly and evenly. As an everything-included solo system with a built-in piezo ignitor and cup, it’s lightweight and compact.

With a simple flip of the pot supports, this solo cook system instantly becomes an adaptable stove that can serve more campers or become a gourmet chef’s backcountry kitchen; no accessories needed. In ‘multi-pot mode’, the Switch can accommodate a variety of cookware from larger pots to boil pasta for a group to non-stick skillets for your morning eggs.

Very few stoves in its class include a pressure regulator, making the Switch the most reliable performance option for price-conscious adventurers. The pressure regulator allows the Switch to perform consistently in colder temperatures and at altitude where the competition struggles. It also maximizes fuel efficiency, so you get the most out of each canister.

Wherever adventure takes you, the Switch stove is ready to whip up something delicious.

Highlights

  • Versatile: Flip-out pot supports so you can bring your favorite cookware (8-in /20.3 cm max diameter) or use the efficient, integrated 1.0L Switch pot.
  • High-Performance: A pressure regulator, found on very few stoves in this class, provides good fuel efficiency, even in cold conditions and higher altitudes, and improves flame control for more precise cooking for delicate foods like eggs.
  • Lightweight: Complete system weighs 13.8 oz (392 g); stove weighs just 4.1 oz (117 g).
  • Efficient Hemispherical Design: Patent-pending rounded Switch pot bottom heats faster and more evenly than a traditional flat-bottom pot, boiling 0.5L of water in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Stable Pot Support: Ring stand for integrated pot to rest on makes placing the pot on the stove easy and intuitive.
  • Easy to Light: Built-in piezo ignitor makes lighting the stove simple and fast.
  • Compact Nesting: All components and a 4-oz fuel canister* nest efficiently together inside the Switch pot.
  • Premium Cork: A more sustainable option, the removable cork cozy is burn resistant and won’t melt upon accidental contact with heat, and provides better grip when wet than other materials, minimizing the chance for spills.

About the brand

MSR

MSR, short for Mountain Safety Research, is an American brand founded in 1969 in Seattle by engineer and lifelong mountaineer Larry Penberthy. It began not as a product but as a crusade: Penberthy started testing climbing equipment and publishing a safety newsletter after finding that gear was often failing when it mattered most.

That obsession with reliability became a company known for hard-wearing, technical kit. MSR built its name on backcountry stoves, starting with the Model 9 in 1973 and later the WhisperLite, and went on to make water filters, snowshoes and tents trusted on expeditions worldwide. Now part of Cascade Designs and still based in Seattle, MSR makes lightweight, engineering-led gear for everyone from weekend campers to serious mountaineers.
