Description

The Carhartt Men's Newcastle Shirt Jac bridges the gap between a work shirt and a light jacket, using 258 gsm (7.6 oz/yd²) stretch herringbone fabric with enough structure for outer-layer duty. Its relaxed fit gives room for a layer underneath while Rugged Flex™ construction lets the fabric give as you reach, bend and work.

Extra stretch is built into the gusset and back yoke, so movement comes from the garment construction as well as the fabric. The main seams use triple stitching for added durability through regular wear, while adjustable button cuffs let you set the sleeves to suit your layering.

Storage is one of the Newcastle's strong points. Two buttoned chest pockets handle smaller items, two welt hand pockets sit lower down, and a further pair of larger cargo pockets close with covered zips for more secure storage.

The button-through front and open collar keep the feel closer to a heavyweight shirt than a traditional zipped jacket, making it a useful layer for workshops, travel and cool everyday wear.
