Built for long days on the trail, the 53 Degrees North Merino Hiking Socks by Exceptio deliver soft comfort, reliable warmth and lasting durability across a wide range of outdoor activities. Made with merino wool, they help regulate temperature while feeling naturally soft against the skin, making them ideal for hiking, walking, camping and everyday outdoor use.

The fully cushioned construction adds protection underfoot and around the sock, helping to reduce impact and improve comfort over longer distances. A relaxed fit comfort cuff with an in-turned welt sits gently on the leg without digging in, while gentle grip sections help keep the sock securely in place as you move.

A fine toe seam helps reduce irritation and the risk of blisters, making these a dependable choice for walking boots, hiking shoes or outdoor footwear.

About the brand

Exceptio

Exceptio is a sock maker based in Leicestershire, England, knitting socks in its own factories in the UK and Portugal. As well as its own Exceptio Sport range, it makes socks for clothing brands, including the 53 Degrees North Merino Hiking Socks, along with specialist socks for cycling, golf and cricket.

Production runs to SMETA 4-Pillar, BSCI and ISO 9001:2015 standards, and the Portuguese plant is GOTS and GRS certified. Exceptio also developed Hydrocycled yarn, which spins recycled cotton and recycled polyester from pre-consumer fabric waste back into new yarn, certified to OEKO-TEX and GRS.
