Description

Routes that move between pavement and trail suit the Hoka Women's Challenger 8 Running Shoes, which combine road-friendly cushioning with enough tread for less technical off-road sections. Compression-moulded EVA softens impact underfoot, while redesigned multi-directional 4mm lugs provide extra bite on gravel, paths and mixed surfaces without becoming overly aggressive on tarmac.

A lightweight engineered-mesh upper is made from 100% recycled polyester and keeps the fit breathable, while a 3D screen-printed toe cap adds protection at the front. Reflective details improve visibility in lower light. With an 8mm heel-to-toe drop and a neutral platform, the Challenger 8 is built for runners who want one cushioned shoe for varied everyday routes.

About the brand

Hoka

Hoka, originally Hoka One One, is a running brand founded in 2009 in Annecy, France, by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard, two trail runners who had previously worked at Salomon. They wanted a shoe that let them run downhill faster and with less fatigue, so they went against the minimalist trend of the time and built in far more cushioning. The name comes from a Maori phrase meaning to fly over the earth.

That maximalist idea, an oversized midsole with soft, deep cushioning, is still what Hoka is known for. Paired with a rocker-shaped sole that smooths each stride, it helps reduce impact over long distances. The range now covers road and trail running, walking and recovery footwear for every kind of runner.
