Waterproof Hoka footwear for wet Irish weather

A waterproof lining is one of the most useful upgrades for footwear here, and Hoka fits GORE-TEX across its trail, walking and hiking styles.

GORE-TEX seals out rain and puddles

A GORE-TEX membrane blocks water from getting in while letting sweat vapour escape, so your feet stay drier without turning clammy.

Waterproofing across running, walking and hiking

From trail shoes like the Challenger to the Anacapa walking shoe and the Kaha boot, the waterproof line covers running, walking and hillwalking.

Breathable comfort you can wear for hours

GORE-TEX keeps the weather out without the sweatiness of a fully sealed shoe, so waterproof Hokas stay comfortable over long days.

Grip for slick, wet surfaces

Wet ground is slippery ground, and these styles pair their waterproofing with grippy outsoles for surer footing on trail and pavement.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy waterproof Hoka footwear in Ireland?

Waterproof Hoka shoes and boots are available online at 53 Degrees North with delivery across Ireland, and by free Click and Collect from our stores.

What does GORE-TEX do in a shoe?

GORE-TEX is a waterproof, breathable membrane built into the shoe. It stops rain, puddles and wet grass getting in while still letting sweat vapour escape, so your feet stay drier without overheating.

Is a waterproof shoe worth it for Irish weather?

For most of the year, yes. A GORE-TEX shoe keeps feet dry through the wet grass, mud and showers that come with walking and running here. In very warm weather or very deep, sustained wet, some people prefer a non-waterproof shoe that drains and dries faster.

How do I look after waterproof shoes?

Brush off mud, let them dry naturally away from direct heat, and refresh the outer with a spray-on waterproofing treatment when water stops beading. Clean uppers help the GORE-TEX membrane keep working.

Can I collect orders in store?
