Description

Cold hikes become easier to manage when insulation remains warm in damp conditions, blocks wind and can disappear into the pack once the temperature rises. The North Face Men's Terra Peak Hooded Jacket combines Thermoball™ warmth with WindWall™ protection in a durable, packable design.

Blown Thermoball™ insulation traps heat through the body and continues to perform when damp. The lightweight recycled-nylon ripstop outer resists regular trail wear, while wind-resistant construction reduces the chilling effect of exposed air.

Air-permeable fleece panels at the underarms release heat and improve movement, helping the jacket remain comfortable during sustained activity. An elastic-bound three-piece hood, stretch cuffs and an elastic hem close the edges without bulky adjustment hardware.

Covered zipped hand pockets and an internal chest pocket organise essentials. When protection is no longer needed, the entire jacket stows into the left hand pocket for compact carrying.

Highlights

  • Self-fabric overlay on the hood, yoke and upper sleeves
  • Air-permeable fleece panel at the underarms
  • Blown Thermoball™ insulation in the channels helps keep you warm even when wet
  • Attached, elastic-bound, three-piece hood
  • Exposed center front zip with an internal draft flap and chin guard
  • Brushed tricot lining at the top of the draft flap for added comfort
  • Set-in sleeves
  • Internal, drop-in chest pocket
  • Covered, secure-zip hand pockets
  • Stows in the left hand pocket
  • Pieced-in, stretch interlock cuffs

Technologies

From the shop floor
We rate this one for cold hikes where you're working hard: the Thermoball insulation keeps going if it turns damp, and the whole jacket stuffs into its own pocket once the sun's back out.

About the brand

The North Face

The North Face began in 1966 as a small climbing and camping shop in San Francisco, started by two outdoor enthusiasts who wanted to supply serious adventurers with gear they could trust. It took its name from the coldest, most demanding face of a mountain, and that spirit of pushing boundaries has shaped the brand ever since.

Today The North Face is known worldwide for jackets, footwear and packs built to perform in rain, wind and snow. From forest walks to summit scrambles, its gear is made to protect you through changeable conditions and long days outdoors, whatever Ireland's skies decide to do.

That reliability comes from proven materials and technologies, including GORE-TEX for waterproof, breathable protection and ThermoBall insulation for packable warmth. It is gear designed to keep up, on the trail and off it.
