About the brand

Mountain Equipment

Mountain Equipment is a British brand, founded near Manchester in 1961 by mountaineer Peter Hutchinson, who began by hand-making down sleeping bags and jackets for serious expeditions. That heritage in high-altitude gear still defines the brand today.

Built for climbers, mountaineers and hillwalkers, its down jackets, fleeces, insulated layers and waterproof shells are engineered for tough terrain and harsh weather. It is dependable kit for exposed ridges and big days in the hills, as at home on Irish peaks as on the Greater Ranges.
