Is the Base Camp Duffel waterproof?

The Base Camp Duffel is highly water-resistant and keeps contents dry in rain and splashes, but it is not a sealed dry bag for full submersion. For guaranteed dryness, a dedicated waterproof duffel or dry bag is the better choice.

Which Base Camp Duffel size is carry-on?

The XS and S Base Camp Duffels generally meet cabin size limits, though allowances vary by airline. Check your airline's dimensions against the size listed on the product page before you fly.

Can you carry the Base Camp Duffel as a backpack?

Yes. The duffels come with padded, removable shoulder straps that let you wear the bag as a backpack, which is handy over rough ground or long distances.

As a rough guide, the XS and S sizes suit weekends and cabin travel, the M and L cover most week-long trips and gear-heavy weekends, and the XL and XXL are for expeditions or hauling bulky kit.
