Exceptio

Exceptio is a sock maker based in Leicestershire, England, knitting socks in its own factories in the UK and Portugal. As well as its own Exceptio Sport range, it makes socks for clothing brands, including the 53 Degrees North Merino Hiking Socks, along with specialist socks for cycling, golf and cricket.

Production runs to SMETA 4-Pillar, BSCI and ISO 9001:2015 standards, and the Portuguese plant is GOTS and GRS certified. Exceptio also developed Hydrocycled yarn, which spins recycled cotton and recycled polyester from pre-consumer fabric waste back into new yarn, certified to OEKO-TEX and GRS.
