Columbia's waterproof and breathable membrane, seam-sealed and built in multiple layers to keep rain and wind out while letting body heat and sweat vapour escape. It is aimed at light to moderate wet weather, so it keeps you dry and comfortable on everyday hikes and in changeable conditions without the bulk of a heavier shell.

A synthetic insulation that traps body heat in fine, lofty fibres to give warmth for very little weight. It keeps insulating when damp and dries quickly, so it holds up in changeable weather, and it works well as the warm layer in a jacket without adding bulk.

MTR (Mountain Thermal Range) is Columbia's fleece built to retain body heat. Some MTR fleeces add a silicone-encapsulated finish so light rain beads and rolls off, which suits cool walks and everyday wear when a shower passes through.
