Description

The MSR Switch Stove System gives you the efficiency of an integrated 1 L pot without locking you into one style of cooking. Use the Switch pot in system mode for fast boiling, or flip out the pot supports to cook with compatible flat-bottom cookware when you want more flexibility around camp.

A pressure regulator helps maintain consistent performance in colder conditions and at altitude, while the rounded Switch pot heats quickly and evenly. The complete system weighs 392 g, the stove alone weighs 117 g, and MSR rates a 0.5 L boil at approximately 2.5 minutes using IsoPro fuel. All components can nest inside the pot with room for a 4 oz IsoPro canister, sold separately.

About the brand

MSR

MSR, short for Mountain Safety Research, is an American brand founded in 1969 in Seattle by engineer and lifelong mountaineer Larry Penberthy. It began not as a product but as a crusade: Penberthy started testing climbing equipment and publishing a safety newsletter after finding that gear was often failing when it mattered most.

That obsession with reliability became a company known for hard-wearing, technical kit. MSR built its name on backcountry stoves, starting with the Model 9 in 1973 and later the WhisperLite, and went on to make water filters, snowshoes and tents trusted on expeditions worldwide. Now part of Cascade Designs and still based in Seattle, MSR makes lightweight, engineering-led gear for everyone from weekend campers to serious mountaineers.
