Carhartt Jackets
Frequently asked questions
What are Carhartt jackets made of?
Most are heavy cotton duck, a tightly woven cotton canvas known for resisting abrasion and wear. Washed duck is the same fabric softened during manufacture, and insulated styles add synthetic fill for warmth. The exact fabric is listed on each product page.
Are Carhartt jackets warm enough for winter?
The insulated and washed duck jackets carry synthetic warmth through the body and often the sleeves, which suits cold, windy days and outdoor work. Lighter duck jackets work better as a tough outer layer over a warm mid layer.
Are Carhartt jackets waterproof?
Cotton duck is hard wearing and sheds light showers, but it is water resistant rather than a fully waterproof rain shell. For sustained rain, layer a waterproof jacket over the top.
How do Carhartt jackets fit?
They are cut with room to layer over a hoodie or shirt. If you are between sizes and want a closer fit, take the smaller one. Each product page notes the fit and whether the style is insulated.
