G-1000 is Fjällräven's hard-wearing cotton and polyester fabric, prized for durability and adaptability. You can treat it with Greenland Wax to boost water and wind resistance, or leave it unwaxed for more breathability, tuning the fabric to the conditions.
Are Fjällräven hiking trousers waterproof?
Most are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof, shrugging off showers and drying quickly, especially when waxed. For sustained heavy rain, pair them with waterproof over-trousers. Their strength is durability and comfort across changeable conditions.
How should hiking trousers fit?
Aim for a fit that lets you move freely and take a big step without pulling, with a little room to layer thermals underneath in cold weather. Check the leg length as well as the waist, since trail trousers work best when they sit correctly over boots.
Can I wear them off the trail?
