The Garmin Forerunner 170 Music GPS Running Smartwatch carries your playlists and your training plan on the one watch, so you can head out with nothing but wireless headphones. You can download playlists from Spotify or Deezer for phone-free listening (a subscription may be required), and Wi-Fi gives the watch a connection that doesn't depend on your phone.

Daily suggested workouts adapt after every run and include run/walk options for anyone building up gradually. Training status and training effect show if your sessions are moving your fitness forward, and wrist-based running dynamics track your cadence and stride length.

Garmin Pay means you can pay at the checkout without a wallet, and on-wrist texting lets you fire back a quick reply from a watch keyboard on Android or through the Garmin Messenger app. Battery life lasts up to 10 days in smartwatch mode, and the bright AMOLED touchscreen stays easy to read on the move.
