Map Man - Irish Maps & Mapping

EastWest Mapping ~ the whole story and a lot more besides! Now available in our newly published book Map Man ~ Irish Maps & Mapping, 184 pages with numerous illustrations. It has been a nice wee challenge to put together and design a book, rather than maps for a change, and I’m pleased enough with the result.

So we often receive queries as to how we make maps, about features on our maps, placenames, requests for maps of new areas and so on. This book addresses many of these issues starting with a brief autobiography, the processes of mapmaking, heritage features & information, the history of small & medium scale mapping in Ireland. We have testament as to the value of better mapping from a selection of our map users whilst the final chapter deals with some of the issues and challenges that face anyone publishing maps in Ireland.
