Helly Hansen

Helly Hansen is a Norwegian brand, founded in 1877 in Moss by sea captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife Margrethe. Tired of the wet, cold conditions at sea, they began making waterproof oilskin jackets and trousers from linen soaked in linseed oil, becoming the world's first rainwear maker and winning an award at the Paris World Expo the very next year.
