Fjällräven Backpacks
Frequently asked questions
Is the Kånken waterproof?
The Kånken is made from a water-resistant fabric that handles light rain and shrugs off splashes, but it is not fully waterproof. For heavy or prolonged rain, use a liner or dry bag for anything that must stay dry, or treat the fabric with a suitable wax.
How do I clean a Fjällräven backpack?
Wipe it down with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it air dry away from direct heat. Avoid machine washing, as it can affect the fabric and structure. Spot cleaning as marks appear keeps the pack looking good for years.
What size backpack should I choose?
For carrying the daily essentials, a compact pack around 15 to 20 litres is plenty. For a full day on the hill with layers, food and water, look to a larger daypack in the mid-20-litre range and up. Consider what you carry most often rather than the largest option.
Are Fjällräven backpacks good for hiking or just everyday use?
Both, depending on the model. The classic town-and-school packs are ideal for everyday carry and light use, while the dedicated hiking daypacks add support, structure and volume for time on the trail. Check the model's features against how you plan to use it.
