How do I dry out wet hiking boots properly?
Remove the insole and loosen the laces fully to open the boot as much as possible. Stuff loosely with newspaper or a boot dryer insert to absorb moisture and help maintain shape. Air dry at room temperature away from direct heat sources such as radiators and open fires, which degrade the waterproof membrane, crack leather, and warp the midsole. Do not put hiking boots in a tumble dryer. In cold or damp conditions, bringing boots inside overnight before the next day's use keeps the membrane performing as it should.
