Will a bikini stay on while surfing?

A surf-oriented bikini with secure ties and a snug fit will handle a lot, but for heavy surf many people prefer a one piece or a rash vest over the top. Tie the straps firmly and check the fit before you paddle out.

How should a bikini fit?

Close without digging in. You should be able to slip a finger under a strap comfortably, and nothing should shift when you raise your arms or bend forward. Swim fabrics relax slightly once wet, so err on the snug side when dry.

Can I wear a bikini under a wetsuit?

Yes. A bikini is the most comfortable thing to wear under neoprene, provided it is smooth and free of chunky ties, knots or hardware at the back, since those press into you once the suit is on.

How do I make swimwear last?

Rinse in cool fresh water after every swim, especially after chlorine or salt, and dry it in the shade rather than in direct sun. Avoid wringing it out and never leave it screwed up damp in a bag, which is what breaks down the elastane.
