What is a trucker cap?

A trucker cap has a structured foam or fabric front panel and mesh rear panels, originally so it stayed cool and cheap to make. The mesh means it breathes far better than a full fabric cap in hot weather.

What is the difference between flexfit and adjustable?

An adjustable cap has a strap, snap or buckle at the back and fits a wide range of heads. A flexfit cap has an elasticated band and no strap, so it stretches to your head for a cleaner look but comes in fixed size ranges.

Does a cap protect my face from the sun?

It shades your eyes, forehead and nose well, but leaves your ears and the back of your neck exposed, which is where people most often burn. On a long day in strong sun, a broad-brimmed hat covers considerably more.

How do I wash a cap?

By hand, in cool water with a little mild detergent, then reshape it and let it air dry over something round. Never put a structured cap in the washing machine or the dishwasher, both of which will destroy the peak.
